This is an incredibly serious issue and everyone should be aware of it. Companies go to the countries these migrant workers live in and destroy their way of life and leave them no choice but to come to Canada to work so that their families can survive and then we pay them less money and dont give them proper places to live or even health and safety training for the jobs theyre all but being forced to do. These people are human beings and they are being exploited. You probably think it doesnt have any impact on your life, but whenever there is a single human being suffering anywhere because of inequality were all lessened by it as a people. Just know that if Stephen Harper actually cared about these people he would have done something about this problem to stop it when he gained office in 06, instead the problem has been on a steady climb since his governments election. Educate yourself on this and every other issue you can find and give your opinion to the people in charge. Nothing will ever happen to help these people if we dont start helping them. There are plenty of groups out there right now trying to get these workers the rights they deserve as human beings, and I encourage anyone who is interested to check out one run by a friend of mine. Its called S.A.M.E and it stands for students against migrant exploitation. They do some pretty awesome stuff.
