This is an interesting development and good news for the company London Mining. The other side of the coin is what corporate social responsibility has the company embarked on since the resumption of iron ore mining in these two communities and what is the government of Sierra Leone policy to develop the local infrastructure and social services for the people of Marampa and Lunsar. People who recently visited Lunsar and Marampa saw backwardness at it very worst in these two towns. Whilst the company is celebrating it success, I guess the people of Lunsar and Marampa in particular and Sierra Leone in general will continue to live in abject poverty. The question that lingers in ones mind is how can the government of Sierra Leone devised a strategic roadmap for the mining industry so that value can be added to our minerals locally and simultaneously developed the infrastructure?
