This is depressing. And whiney, and self indulgent. But I applaud the honesty! You have to find your own meaning. And yes, all this other stuff is true. And there is less war and violence than ever before. A bear is not likely to eat you or hostile savages are not likely to burn your home and rape your wife and kill your family. We wonder what it means because we have struggled, worked, built and now have the leisure time to sit around and reflect on what it all means. I am happiest on my bicycle or riding lawn mower. Sometimes that is enough.
