This is for a friend going all the way back to first grade, Penny Walker Jack. She had brought up a very good point on a status I had posted yesterday concerning the cost of a Big Mac in Denmark where McDonalds pays the workers $21 an hour. She was right, Big Macs cost more than $5 in Denmark. (I just got my airline ticket this week for the class reunion, Penny) This first link is not where I got these figures but a description of the The Economist magazines Big Mac Index for comparing global exchange rates. As the Economist states, the Big Mac Index seeks to make exchange-rate theory a bit more digestible.: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_Index I got the figures from this link but the author states he got them from The Economistss Big Mac index: nomadcapitalist/2013/11/24/top-5-expensive-countries-on-the-big-mac-index/ Price of Big Mac in U.S.$4.68 China.............................$2.74..41%.....$1.94....less than U.S. Most expensive countries on the Big Mac Index 1.
