This is for all the people who feels President Obama hasnt done any thing. Just when was the President given the power to do all of what you people want on his own?? Remember, the Democrats only had filibuster proof control of the Senate for less than 7 months between when Obama was elected and Ted Kennedy died which caused them to lose their 60 vote majority on 8/15/2009 and and then it took a while for Mass to appoint a replacement and by the time they did the remainder of 2009 was kind of a muddle due to Ted Kennedy dying. And then suddenly on 1/1/2010, Scott Brown took office and thats when McConnell started using the filibuster more than 400 times to prevent virtually anything the President and the Democrats would like to have gotten moving. And given the disaster America was in, the first priority during 2009 was getting the economy moving again and the dramatic loss of jobs stopped and something done on reforming health care; all of which was accomplished. The job losses of over 800,000/month were almost stopped in their tracks by the auto bailout and stimulus; and by June of that year job losses were down considerably and job creation had actually gone positive by the time Scott Brown took office. Unfortunately, the President doesnt have the authority to raise taxes and jack up social security contributions on his own; and the GOP was going to be sure that didnt happen. Keep in mind that the Democrats majority in the Senate I just pointed out during 2009, is the only majority the Democrats have had in over 19 years in the Senate that would have basically let them get anything accomplished that the GOP didnt buy into. You wont hear this on Foxie Network who calls themselves Fair and Balance. If you believe Fox Network is fair and balance maybe you should seek out a good Doctor. Now you know the rest of the story!
