This is from a 60-minute broadcast this past Sunday: Blah-blah-blah... this is horribly disingenuous... if you click on the video below: “Republican Alternative to Obamacare,” you will find John Boehner & Mitch McConnell variously criticizing the current program because it disrupted the health care system overmuch and only insured 10 more million people leaving at least 30 million without health care insurance. However, it was Republicans who did not want universal health care in the first place, e.g., a healthcare system that would have reached everyone! They hog-tied the Democrats so they could criticize them later. In addition, Boehner criticizes Obamacare as a typical Washington bureaucratic one size fits all approach, when later he criticizes it for not reaching all people. How can this be? How can it be one size fits all on the one hand and then doesnt reach all on the other. Then he criticizes Obamacare for not allowing people to cross state lines to shop for the best, competitive policy when it was Republicans who insisted on individual states rights to maintain their health insurance systems without state vs state competition that would force people to cross state borders. But when he waxes almost poetic and nostalgic, perhaps for the days when a family doctor made house calls, he says he wants to make sure that doctors get rewarded for their efforts! (Hint: read “so doctors can reward us with their political donations.) So, he criticizes it for what it is not, when that was precisely what his caucus wanted. And, after asked, what is his health care plan, he responds they are looking very carefully at it! After 4 years they are still looking at it! McConnell points out that Obamacare dropped the number of uninsured from 40 million to 30 million and criticizes it for not including everybody when it was Republicans who did not want universal health care! Yikes! https://youtube/watch?v=rnHrIFh82ts
