This is going to be short. Im so tired. Been up since 4:00 a.m and didnt get home from the hospital until 7:30 p.m. Ash and I did our share of pacing through the surgery, As you know the surgery went well and we got to go be with her after they took her to ICU. Then omg... nobody warned me how hard it would be to watch your baby cry from so much pain. Kathy is allergic to codeine, and the pain meds they an give her all make her throw up and that CANT happen. The started with one med in a pump that she could administer to herself every so many minutes and it did nothing, She just laid there with tears rolling, her teeth clenched, blood pressure shooting sky high from the pain, being so quiet and forgetting to breathe, literally. Every so often we got that little gut-wrenching moan that made Ash and me both sick. He stayed until just before rush hour and I was going to leave right behind him and right about that time Kathy lost it. I didnt leave. They finally figured out to try more anti-nausea meds given IV, plus pain pills, and continuing the IV pain meds and it finally finally began to cut the edge. Her blood pressure began to go down and visiting hours were over. I hated so bad to leave because shes scared, but we are given no choice in ICU. Ash is going up tomorrow and stay the morning with her and Ill go after lunch and stay the afternoon. They might move her out of ICU if she does okay but that hinges on a lot. She will have to get up and walk tomorrow. omg. I stood at her bedside and read her all of the messages that were sent for her today. She got all teary again, and is so so grateful for your love and prayers. It was a brutal surgery. We knew it would be. It will be a brutal span of healing, but its all heading in the right direction and God is good. Thank you.
