This is hands down my favorite holiday, and theres not even a close 2nd. I love it for many reasons. Christmas music, happiness, family time, laughter around the dinner table; and the list goes on. Most importantly, this is the holiday created because an almighty, loving, powerful, holy God sent His only child to free me from my own bondage. That little baby was my FREEDOM! Freedom from fear. Freedom from sin. Freedom from death and an eternal hell. He knew, before time began, that I would need a Savior. He knew that I couldnt make it on my own. What a gracious God that He would give up His most precious gift, for the SOLE REASON to give ME a chance to spend eternity with Him! He sought ME out! I didnt have to go find Him! On this special holiday, my eternal salvation presented itself on the most beautiful shelf of all - a lowly stable. He saw fit to step down from His throne, from a flawless Heaven, and begin a 33 year journey of redemption ... just for me! I could careless about the gifts, the lights, the festivities, and the glamour that this world has molded this holiday to be. This is about Jesus, and Jesus only! To Him be all glory and honor and praise, forever and ever! AMEN!
