Putting Palestinians on a par with Israelis gives the Israelis equal rights in Palestine which is the idea that is haunting Finkelstein , that Israelis should never lose their right to this land and which is the core of Zionism. This is the idea that is sneaking into Arab minds under the garb of solidarity and support for the cause that Finkelstein is exhibiting . By this Arabs and Palestinians have identified fully with a Zionist Jew who seeks the continuity of the state of Israel in the best circumstances that could be provided by them ; they have also normalized with the situation of dividing what they have with their enemy whom Finkelstein has succeeded in introducing as a friend undergoing similar sufferings
