This is interesting, looking at Green Investment we have now, begun, to create economies of scale through innovative investment structures. Leading from this example, there must be an abundance of options outside of first world/second world pull and demand r.e. factory lines. Fair Trade, was a terrible idea as it disturbed the traditional culture of farming in other countries, it ousted out small family farms that needed the communities children on sight, let those farms stop trading, let those families starve, whilst big farms in the supply chain that could afford 50p more an hour stayed in business, and found compensation at the expense of the environment, land. Factories are, wholly different, a man made construct - fair factory trade could work well, but its yet another example of how we will farcically indulge in paying 10p extra for a banana if it makes us feel like better people but not, 25% of the current price of a Mac Book. Baring, in mind, when prices go up in our economy wages tend to level out. Now is the time to begin experimenting in sustainability and ethics, that yield good investment.
