This is my earliest childhood home. It was slightly damaged by British Congreve rockets which overflew Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore in 1814. Maybe the very rockets that inspired Francis Scott Key to write by the rockets red glare. And Im not the only literary connection with 1712 Aliceanna. Edgar Allen Poe was drugged, mugged and left dying very nearby. But the neighbourhood has been very gentrified since then - and since I lived there.
