This is my latest edited book on the issue of slavery. The story is about a former mixed raced slave women and top dress maker who worked her way to the top and was courted by the elite in Washington DC. She also became the personal dress maker of Abraham Lincolns wife. However, she did an expose on the family on the intimate workings of the White House and was reviled in the worst possible way. What she did was like the best friend who you invite in your home, wrote a book about your family and friends secrets then sell them to the press. Overnight she lost all her white elite friends and eventually became bankrupt and died in poverty. The lessons in this book are nothing new. In contemporary terms, its like those people who only keep white friends, mix only in white circles, but are not aware that if they are quickly discarded at will. Sadly she died in poverty, and in many respect forgotten by history.
