This is my sister Nawal, with my brother Gus.....rest her soul, I used to call her Angie Dickinson. I am posting this now as she is an October baby, however, I truly feel her running to meet Oscar de la Renta, Nawal LOVED high fashion, she wore designer clothes the majority of the time and dressed others in designer clothes. She was the first person I knew to wear Oscars original cologne, the deep floral notes; and I think both extremes of his style range, from superiorly sleek and elegant, to the playfully celebrative ruffles and richly colored, more dramatic pieces.....I swear I can sense her running down to wherever he is now on his way up, eager to meet the man whose name she wore and spoke like singing. [I wish she were wearing a more clearly designer dress here, but her smile compensates for that.]
