This is my testimony to Clifton Leong Choong Peng (my beloved brother), that was delivered during the church service on the 15th June 2013. He passed on at 6.56am on 14 June 2013, due to 4th stage stomach cancer leading to liver failure. "From what I know about my brother Clifton, he was a very reserved person. He did not talk much, and had very little interaction with family members and friends. Whatever problems he encountered, he tried to solve them on his own. But he was a good and strategic wealth-planner… very thrifty and tried to save every cent he earned…just for the benefit of his family (his wife and his two daughters). He did not pamper himself with something good in life at all! I remembered once he told me that his duty as a father was to ensure that his children have the best education possible, in order to be able to survive in this society. People may have found him illusory and I believe many of our family members, relatives or even friends may have misunderstood him or his ‘supposed to be’ kind intentions! We (five siblings) were brought up from a poor family, having to share one apple among the seven of us during our childhood days (my late father, mother and five siblings). We have all gone through a lot of hardship during our childhood days and so its logical that Clifton valued what he earned and not dare to splurge! Even during every Lunar New Year preparations, I as the eldest sister have to bring him out to buy him one or two new shirts and a pair of shoes. I wish I could still do this for him every year…… Clifton was a very cautious and conservative person in terms of wealth management. He was also a perfectionist! He calculated every move very cautiously before committing to it. This was Clifton! Clifton was a faithful husband to Desiree, a very respectable and responsible father to his two daughters (Wei-Na and Kate), and a filial son to his mother, who is now 82 years old. But we have to agree that whatever Clifton had done was for the full benefit of his family. He left us with no liabilities. He was a great husband, father and son! Because Clifton had already accomplished his tough mission on earth much too early, so he was called Home to the Lord on 14th June 2013, 6.56am, to ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN. From now, Clifton will be rejoicing and having Peace and Tranquility in Heaven, free from all anxiety, pain and agony. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife Desiree, daughters Wei-Na and Wei Qi, his 82-year old mother (who is still grieving over the loss of her beloved son), his brother and sisters, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and friends. Goodbye for now Clifton…. Till we meet again! I will deliver what I have re-assured you on 14th June 2013. Your dearest sister, Pauline 24 June 2013"
