This is not exactly on the subject of Brimson but I saw something interesting tonight. Chuck, do you take the Gallatin paper? I went up to supper and Kirby Payne showed me there was an article about Bancroft in it. It was really interesting. Told about Bancroft and the Pilot Grove area where I grew up and the churches and how it all started. Also talked about Bancroft having a baseball team and a brass band. It did make a reference to Brimson when it told about the railroad going thru Gilman to Brimson and bypassing Bancroft. It mentioned the Brimson coal mines. Sounds like maybe it was there a little before the railroad came thru and the coal mine was the reason it did. It didnt say anything about Melbourne.
