This is not just a simple Thank You letter. This is a message from my heart to every single person that reached out during my time of need. Most Thank You letters are expected to be posted as soon as possible after an event - usually within a week. Well, my friends… it has been two weeks to the day and it has taken me this long to overcome the emotions and pure joy that came from that very special concert on August 31st, 2014. The Darrell Nutt Benefit Concert! Wow! A day that I will never, ever forget! Ever! First off, I would sincerely like to thank all of you for your financial donations, raffle and food donations, volunteering, music performances, positive energy, prayers, smiles and laughter, and to the countless people that just showed up to be there. There were SO many familiar faces that made me smile all day. It means the world to me that you care so much and are so gracious. It was a very humbling experience. Here is why and how all of this all came about: I was diagnosed with multiple blood clots caused by mutated genes and was in the hospital in early July for 6 days. The doctors said I may not be able to work for several months. By the second week of August Mario Infanti whipped up the idea for the Benefit Concert - Friends of Darrell to help his buddy. Diane Green LadyLight Worker and Renee Scott quickly and enthusiastically joined him in the organizational aspects. Everything came together so well. Immediately, Sheriff Mike Scott offered uniformed officers and great guys, Angelo Vaughn and C. Vernon Tyus! Craig Wolf offered to be there and emcee the ENTIRE day. Mario had over 40 bands and musicians that contacted him to perform. Food would be donated by Papa Joes Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, Pizza Pub, KV kabab village, Willie Shallies, Papa Djembe and the kitchen would be organized by Chef John David Scott. August 31st came off without a hitch. The event was a huge success! The music was world class! I was great to see so many Southwest Florida musician friends under one roof and hear all styles of music. Country, Singer/Songwriter, Rock, Jazz, African World Beat, Tropical, Bossa Nova, Acoustic, Jam Band, Reggae, Calypso, Rockabilly, Funk! Id like to personally THANK all of the artists that amazing day: Wild Orchid, Official Outcome, Jon Carol Bowlin, Richard Lee, Father Al and the Jazz Congregation, Black Sheep - Diego Verney, Danny Shepard, David J Moore, Scott Novello, High Tide, Mike Imbasciani, Sarah Hadeka Williams, Aiyb Dieng, KIM PAGE BLUES BAND, Whitney Lucas, Steve Uscher, Winnie Purple, David Carlton Johnson, Geoffrey Fitzhugh Perry, Steve Anthony, Rick Howard And the Speedbumps, Dan Miller. Don Mopsick, Lew Delgatto, Ray Nesbit, Jeremy Robertson, Michael Blasucci, Guy Rienzi, Ron Setters, Jim Whitaker, Joey V, Jerry Fierro, Steven Emerson, James Good, Juan Gomez, and anyone I may have missed! Thanks to ALL of the volunteers (I hope I didnt miss anyone): Brian Tormey. Super special thanks to Deborah Leoci Meisenberg for your official legal advice, accounting and bright smile. My Mom Birdie Lee tore the house down with her Patsy Cline song! I love you Mom and thank you for helping out all day! The day was about sharing, caring and spreading LOVE. Lisa Brandt - Simply put... I love you! Finally, Id like to thank Mario Infanti for MAKING me accept the fact that people are good, they want to help, and I have to let them and there is NOTHING I can do about it. Period! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone. With Love, Darrell
