This is not just for children who experience sensory issues, all children need routine to feel safe and secure. Once they feel safe and secure they are able to more readily cope with the everyday separations, frustrations, excitement, change etc. ***Sensory Tip of the Day!*** 5 reasons why routines are so important for everyone: 1. Routines support and promote self-regulation. 2. Routines help decrease episodes of sensory overload, sensory meltdowns, and sensory dysregulation. 3. Routines provide a sense of organization, sameness, predictability, and comfort...something all of our nervous systems need. 4. Routines help with time management and can provide a healthy balance of work, rest, and play throughout the day. 5. Routines can be the very best way to help with transitions, especially for those who struggle with it. ~Angie Voss, OTR
