This is old news for our fans in West Virginia, but House Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, a prominent member of what we call the Banking Caucus, is seeking a Senate seat. Rep. Capito, along with ten other representatives, earned a spot in the Banking Caucus because of generous support theyve received from financial industry employees and PACs. That very group has introduced 20 bills to undo many of the financial reforms enacted in the Dodd-Frank law of 2010. As part of her campaigning, Rep. Capito talks about herself as a defender of small community banks — meanwhile her most generous campaign donors are Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.
