This is one case of Control Freak that has taken it to a whole new level in my opinion. These are the rules on a rat rescue: We require the adoption application to be filled out honestly and completely. If ANY information is found to be false BEFORE or AFTER adoption, the adoption contract is void. If you do not own your home and are renting you must provide proof from your landlord that rats are permitted as pets in your home. We require weekly updates of your new ratties for the first month. If you move, change phone numbers, email addresses, etc., you must let us know so we have a means of contacting you for updates in the future. If you must give up your rats in the future, or can no longer care for them, they must be returned to us. We must approve of any other home before the rats are placed with any other person. Are you serious? And you charge 15.00 for a rat? I used to breed rats for pets and ended up not being able to place enough pets, so I went into feeder rats and didnt like that too well. So I quit. I think rats are enormously sweet pets. I totally get that rats are eaten daily all over the world though as well as chickens and beef etc. And I love my chickens, but I eat chicken. Not mine, but I do eat it. So do you think that this place is a bit over the top on their rules? I mean REQUIRING updates for a month? Hello?? I send out birds to families who say they will update me and dont hear back from most of them because people get busy and they are happy with their pet. I only usually hear from those that need some more help getting adjusted. Leaving out the link so as to not slander anyone, but this post isnt about the rats. It is about people who think they control others. Get a reality check! Only God controls the world. WE dont. My parents were looking for a cat once and ran into this type of animal control freak type all the time.
