This is one of my favorite speeches that I go back to for inspiration. I put the link to start 6 minutes in and I think the next two minutes provides a great insight into how we are misunderstanding the fight for comprehensive immigration reform. If you switch what Stokely says about the Civil Rights Bill for an Immigration Reform Bill and White people for privileged people this message rings true today. People understand that they have a right to cross borders to work and be with their family, an immigration reform bill is needed to tell the people of privilege to stop denying people their freedom, freedom to cross a political boundary.
