This is one of my very favourite Scottish ancestry family photos. This is my great great grandparents Dugald and Christina McLachlan (nee McPherson) with thier 6 sons. My great grandmother Jean was 12 years old then.. and was so sick she could not attend the sitting sadly.. and mostly unheard of back then. Dugald was the Mail Coach driver for the Rangitikei...along with his eldest son Robert.. who died in his early twenties. Christinas parents were farmers in Turakina.. and there is still a a title after thier name in McPhersons Bush.
