This is personal... -- Peter Wilcox American, captain of the Arctic Sunrise. Met him in 1983 when the Crew of the Rainbow Warrior attended the first ever Burger King demonstration organized by RAN -- Paul Ruzycki Canadian, first mate. He taught me to ride a snowmobile in the Arctic in 2000. I was arrested there on felony reckless endangerment charges for climbing onto the worlds largest back hoe above the Arctic Circle - Dmitri (Dima) Litvinov Swedish-American dual citizen, Greenpeace spokesman, the great-grandson of Maxim Litvinov, who was Soviet foreign minister for almost a decade under Josef Stalin. We worked together in Siberia in 1996 These are people of rare character and courage, generous and determined, with wicked senses of humor, as I am sure is true for the rest of the crew whom Ive yet to meet. These are seasoned veterans with decades of service to our planet. They need our support, true, but most importantly, I think they want you to get off your butts and do something about the deep sea drilling. So write to the Russian Government. Set our people free!
