This is pretty much a comprehensive collection of Stephens greatest hits — including his 2011 And Yet EP (called a healthy blend of pure pop and melancholy melody), as well as the two well-received singles he produced in LA — Mountains and All the Way Home. Although still in its infancy, Stephens music career was gaining momentum. Several of his songs were featured on film soundtracks in the past few years, and his album and singles got great reviews on several well-regarded music blogs. Although I often pressed him to start charging the big bucks when it came to his music, Stephen insisted on pursuing a low-fi, organic approach to music sharing — and happily posted his songs on free sites like Bandcamp and Soundcloud, so his music could be available to anyone, anywhere, whenever they felt like listening. And he really did love every email he got, and every comment on YouTube begging him to never stop making music. He loved the great reviews, the attention, the adoration, and he even excitedly shared several — how can I put this? — rather dedicated emails from fans and groupies, who were so touched by his music that they were willing to do ANYTHING for him, if you know what I mean. That part was probably his favorite. :) Hopefully in the next few months, well be able to sort through his stuff and find some unreleased material. -MIKE
