This is quite scholarly. From the works of Plato “Republic” routlege philosophy guide book by Nickolas Pappas. Socrates and Polemarchus are pondering whether being in Love is the attraction to what one lacks or the desire to possess what one resembles. Then Thrasymachus in an attempt to sustain the discourse, posit, “Being in love is nothing but a chemical state in the brain”. Very interesting.....
