This is really unlike me, and Im not sure even I agree with my decision to post this. However, we received a scathing review on Yelp! a couple days ago that was brought to my attention last night. In it, everything about Durty Harrys Charlestown was ripped to shreds. From cleanliness, to inventory, to functionality, to location, to my integrity and attitude. I was called a liar, and uppity. Yelp! provides an incredibly public, yet incredibly cloaked opportunity for people to sit behind a screen and at their will give a thumbs up or thumbs down on businesses/peoples passions, livelihoods and commitments. With the business/person zero opportunity to respond in an equally public way. Frankly, I never read our reviews. This one was called to my attention and I wish it hadnt been because I lost a good nights sleep over a coward who never spoke with me about their dissatisfaction with my business, and was never a walking club member, but eagerly shared it with the world. Heres what I sent Mr. Anonymous this morning: So, I just re-read your review. And the sticking point to me is that you called me a liar. So, you have access to this incredibly public tool, where you lie, bash my business, my passion, my integrity, my service, my attitude and jeopardize my living with a key stroke. Shame on you. You dont like my business, dont come. Its that simple. I have no idea what you do for a living, because youre a coward cloaked by anonymity. But, you rely on your job to live I assume, and next time you take to the keyboard to fabricate and exaggerate your experience at a small business, think for an instant before you hit send.
