This is regarding a Post that was just here and then Disappeared, And ALL the other posts that pop up from time to time regarding the Legality of Charging Employees (Drivers) for their Damages. When I was in business I had an Employee tell me it was against the law for me to Charge him for Equipment Damaged by his negligence. I Agreed with him 100% and reminded him that it is however well within my rights to terminate him for Abuse of Company Equipment (As covered and Outlined in the Employee Handbook meaning he would NOT be eligible for unemployment). So he could either Offer to reimburse me for the damages or I could Terminate him. He decided to Offer to pay for his damages.
