This is sick, and it is time to stop this armoring of our police progressing in our community. The entire police process is out of bounds in our town...for the more we arm, the more tension builds, the more people make mistakes, get distressed and things escalate. It is time for the military and our police forces to stand down from accelerating fear whether it be theirs or ours. More surveillance and more guns doesnt make us safer. Learning how to do intervention, negotiation, societal change, restorative justice, mediation...so many things are much more useful and safer. This is a choice to stop armoring and become peacemakers. We need to do it now.
