This is so beautifully written and with so much empathy. Thank you Shannon Harring and Joan Harring for sharing this with us. I understand your fathers pain completely. Robin Williams and I were both on the same boat to hell this weekend. Unfortunately, he succeeded in going overboard. I clung to the idea of how I would hurt my loving husband, David Hays, my children, Matthew and Danielle, and most important of all, my grandson Raiden. I could not bear to think of the pain I would inflict on them. The pain of such deep depression is so overwhelming that you just want to get away from it. So many do not understand unless theyve lived through it themselves. Please give a moments thought to how deeply depressed people feel before passing judgement.
