This is so good, its what I want for Christmas From Bil TheBaconguy Wood Cheesy Tortellini Bake. 1 package of Cheese Tortellini (I prefer four cheese) 2 Cups whole milk 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 Tablespoons Butter 1 8oz package of Extra Sharp or Sharp Cheddar grated/shredded 3 Slices American Cheese 1 1/2 Teaspoons Better Than Bouillon Chicken Flavored Dashes of the following Garlic Powder , Onion Powder , Salt , Pepper Pre-Heat oven to 425 Start by cooking the Tortellini according to package directions and cook till done but not overcooked. Drain it and drizzle in a little oil so that it will not stick together. Set aside. Spray or wipe a casserole baking dish with oil and set aside Using a non-stick skillet over low heat melt the Butter and add the cornstarch and simmer for a few minutes until it blooms a little. Then slowly start adding the milk adding a small splash at first and then increasing the milk until it has all been added to the butter cornstarch mixture. You will want to stir this the entire time to avoid any clumping or clotting while you make the basic white sauce... Once the mixture has thickened into a medium white sauce then stir in the Better Than Bouillon , add the dashes of seasoning and finally add in the 3 slices of American Cheese and let them melt into the mixture. To assemble the dish. Layer in some of the sauce a small spoonful to cover the bottom of the baking dish and then half the Tortellini , Then half the Grated/Shredded Cheddar , Then the other half of the Tortellini and then the rest of the Cheddar. Once it has been nicely layered in then pour the white sauce all of it into the dish and allow it to cover everything and you may want to use a spoon or a knife to insert into the dish to get any air bubbles out... Then slide the dish into the oven for 30 minutes to a hour... Let it brown as much as you like and then remove from oven and let sit a few minutes before serving... Bil TheBaconguy Wood Adjust the spices to your taste and you want the white sauce to be about the consistency of runny cake batter if it comes out a little thick you can always thin it with a little more milk... Sort of like Mac and Cheese on Steroids ..... very good baked casserole dish.
