This is so true. Even now offshore MROs are filling faster than they can inspect and repair aircraft. There will be a time in the not too distant future that there will be aircraft stuck on the ground because they cant get essential maintenance done offshore. It is completely idiotic to me to cut this essential business to the bone in Australia as is the case in Qantas to show yet another plan not working. Joyce and his cronies have destroyed an essential Australian asset our ability to maintain our airliner fleets and the ability to expand to become an MRO in its own right offering its service to the increasing number of airliners inhabiting what is for now, relatively safe airspace. But as the cuts reign supreme the results will be deminished quality and the potential for disaster...
