This is something that an Article Five Amendment Convention could do and the congress could do nothing about it... Proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America We need your help in getting a grass roots, ground swell going to get this proposed Amendment on the ballot in 38 states to get it passed. If you agree with the following, please pass this on to everyone you know and ask them to do the same. If the American people bring enough pressure to bear, this will happen! 1. Any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP), all sitting members of Congress, both Senators and Representatives, are ineligible for re-election. In other words, if they don’t get the job done, they get fired!!!!! 2. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/Woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office. 3. Congress (past, present, future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, 401K etc., just as all Americans do. 5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or 3%. 6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 7. Congress must abide by all the laws they impose on the American people. Congress shall make no law that applies to the Citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States. Congress made all these laws for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so they should serve their term(s) then go home and back to work.
