This is something we all have to move beyond emotionally. No one - TopicsExpress

This is something we all have to move beyond emotionally. No one likes being disliked (unless you’re a Yankees fan), but we’re talking about life and death here. If you’re pushing widgets on the phone, you should feel guilty for interrupting someone’s dinner. But if you’re an ambulance driver and you can’t find the home of a heart attack victim who needs to go to the hospital, the last thing you should feel guilt over is calling around to find the right house. We’ve been called to offer people something infinitely more important than medical assistance— it’s the Word of Life, salvation, and eternal truth. Heaven and hell hang in the balance. The prospect of someone going to hell is worth taking emotional hits. Frankly, the salvation of our non-Christian friends is more important than being liked by them. We have to reconcile our minds to the reality that if we are faithful to Christ’s call, some people just aren’t going to like us. Jones, Brian (2011-08-01). Hell Is Real (But I Hate to Admit It) (Kindle Locations 669-676). David C. Cook. Kindle Edition.
