This is the Dealer Select CRS 59 from Oasis Music in Ringwood UK. Its an exact replica of the first Strat imported into England and played originally by Hank B Marvin of the seminal English instro band, The Shadows. Why CRS? It stands for Custom Red Strat. Those of us around in 1960 knew the colour of this famous Strat as Flamingo Pink, but Fender have always denied the existence of such a colour, and insisted that it was Fiesta Red. But both Hank and his rhythm guitar colleague Bruce Welch - now the custodian of this instrument - insisted that Fiesta Red was wrong, hence the creation of a colour they both approved of. The prototype of this model hung in the Fender Boardroom for some time, and 50 went on general sale, with numbers 51 to 54 allocated to the chosen few. Its a really good guitar... Greg Fessler, who built them all, did a great job...
