This is the aquifer that provides water to us in the city in which I live - San Marcos. We have experienced severe drought the last 5 or so years - and are worried about our water levels. However, the aquifer has continued to work - but we need to reduce our water use. This area is home to many species that exist in a very specific place - here - include blind salamanders, Texas Wild Rice and so on. Its a fascinating place to be.
