This is the article vinny wrote about himself for his frat: may I say he did this event all on his own! So proud of him! Last year for our fall philanthropy we did Spike for the Special Olympics which was a volleyball tournament. Although this was a good idea for an event it sadly only raised a few hundred dollars because of how much money it cost us to rent the space in the rec center and extra shirts bought. This year we came up with a new philanthropy idea called Kicking it with the Special Olympians, which was a kickball tournament on campus. Not only did using the field on campus cost us zero dollars but the supplies that we needed cost extremely low. We spent $35.00 on kickball supplies. We also had a mini bake sale with this which brother Zach D Annolfos mom made for us. This was beyond successful and we are very proud to announce that we raised around $1,000 with this event. This is five times the amount we raised last year! Also, we even had an associate member who brought his nephew who has Arthrogryposis disease which gives him minimal use in his legs and arms. We had our Associate run with him to first base and everyone that was there circled around him and chanted his name. This was one of the most moving things weve ever witnessed and the look on his face was more rewarding than any amount of money would ever be. We have had positive feedback from the entire Greek community here and we are happy to say this event will continue for years to come! -Vince Sidoti BT794
