This is the current situation in Daveyton, Johannesburg - Protesters were blockading roads in Daveyton on the East Rand on Tuesday after they were prevented from invading land in the area. The whole situation started on Monday when people tried to illegally invade land and law enforcement took action and prevented them from doing so. They became angry and at 05:00 threy started barricading roads with rocks, tree-trunks, tyres and other objects, they even damaged. A number of shops owned by foreigners in Daveyton have been looted, criminal elements organised themselves into small groups of between six and 12 people and went and looted different shops from around sunset on Tuesday until around 21:00... Whats your say on this people? Do you think our municipal officials made another empty promise that erupted into a riot or is it the people trying to disobey the law?
