This is the hearing in which cuts to TANF(Temporary Cash Assistance for Needing Families) budget cuts were discussed. The poor community is in a crisis and if you or anyone in DC is not positioning themselves to make $75,000 to $125,000 a year or live with several people to combine that type of income YOU, ME, WE wont be a DC residents very long. The gap of the have and have nots are steadily widening and those elected to represent those in Wards of a disproportionate income levels are not standing up to create vehicles for this transition while voting unanimously with those who did not vote for them nor support them to please those for their own personal objectives and personal bills at the expense of those who need the guidance the most. The time for hand outs is over, but a hand up need to be made possible by a government with continuous multi-hundred-million dollar SURPLUSES. I must warn you that if you wait on the government you will be waiting a mighty long time, and may die there. There is a different in government assistance and hand outs. Most of us have benefited from government assistance in multiple ways. I dont see the bail out recipients companies crying from getting almost $1 trillion in bail out money(ex. Wall Street millions). I dont see these campaign funded CONSTRUCTION companies MAD about getting tax reliefs on their projects. I dont see college attendees saying they dont want any government assistance to further their education. Government is not the end all solution, but SELF EMPOWERMENT is. But please dont look down on people who get government assistance. Jews got repriration and some more and nobody said or did anything. Statiscally the majority of people on govenment assiance are not even black people, so you black people that is barely making $50,000/year and still struggling to pay bills dont forget where you come from because God forbid if you have to go back. Love yall. Peace and Love
