This is the sad truth in Delaware. Our legislature and governor have no idea. Kent County Levy Court jumped on bandwagon to save a buck without any interest in animal welfare. This law has cost more money, headaches and lives for all concerned. There is only ONE open admission shelter in Delaware. All others can deny acceptance of unwanted animals, leaving owners no choice but to abandon. If they want a law to prevent euthanasia, focus on the real causes...over population, puppy mills, spay and neuter programs and public education. Pray for the animals of Delaware and our government to make informed choices in the interest of all our Companion Animals.
