This is very late- but Thur I stayed offline to spend time w/family - Fri we had our own Thanksgiving & I played catch up with my businesses, homework & cleaning.. Then Thanksgiving w/more family today. I have never felt like I had so many amazing things to be Thankful for than I do now!! This year, I have had the opportunity to spend so much time with my babies at home while growing my 2 businesses - Thirty-One and Libbys Lil Boutique, & focusing on school. I can not be thankful enough for all the hard work that my amazing boyfriend, Nick, put in to allow this to happen. The time I got to spend w/ my babies every day means more to me than anyone will know- they are my life & my highest priority!! I have got to see my little girl growing up, taking a huge step- starting Kindergarten with early admission & blowing everyone at her school away!! Alivia & Ashdyn have taught me so much in their short lives & I am so thankful for the person they have helped me to become!! I will forever be in debt to them (& Nick too!) for that!! I am so thankful to have a wonderful man in my life & in my childrens lives. Thankful for the family we have built & continue to build every day together! I am Thankful that, when I needed another job- I was blessed with the PERFECT job that fit my families needs & my desires to still be with my kids when they need me. I have amazing co-workers & a fabulous boss & a job that I enjoy going to. I am thankful that I have had awesome teachers this year that have helped me get back on track & find ways to incorporate my current degree into the new passions for my career future. I am EXTREMELY Thankful for the blessings we received recently with Ash. There were so many things that could have went wrong, so many different scenarios with his situation & we were incredibly lucky!! We are thankful for a great pediatrician, who against her own medical opinion of his symptoms, decided to use her better judgement & follow mothers intuition that something was wrong & sent us to get labs- which was the only indicator we had that his hemoglobin was so critically low. We are thankful that my mom was mindful to tell us to save his dirty diaper & bring it with us to the hospital while we were frantically packing (which tested positive for blood- showing the Dr.s that they needed to do more tests to find where he was bleeding inside) We are thankful that we were sent to a hospital that was fully equipped & ready to take my sons life into their hands & do everything they could to make my baby better. We are thankful that people donate blood every day for blood banks, so that Ash could have his immediate & critical blood transfusion quickly and easily (which was step one of saving his life). We are thankful for his detail oriented surgeon who prepared us for every scenario that he could think of before Ashdyns surgery & who found the perforation in his intestine (another step that saved his life). We are thankful for the team of specialists that worked day & night to try to find answers, to assure us of our fears & questions, to make sure we knew what was going on to the best of their ability & never gave up on figuring things out with his issues. We are thankful that we had amazing nurses that were always patient, thoughtful & caring. (Especially one nurse, who left me w/a memory that I will never forget- Even though Ashdyn was heavily sedated & medicated- she came in every couple of hours & talked to him rubbed his head & cheek, explained everything that she was going to do to him before she did it, told him how much she was praying for him and apologized when something she did seemed to hurt him even though he couldnt express that to him, asked him if he was okay even though he couldnt respond. He was not awake physically, but yet she showed more compassion & empathy to him than I could have imagined from his nurses) We are thankful that we were able to take our baby boy home! Although we dont have all the answers we need- we have our handsome little guy at home & healing more every day and we know our Drs are still working on answers for us, for him. We are thankful that we have so many INCREDIBLE, caring people in our lives!! We were OVERWHELMED with the amount of people sending daily prayers and positive thoughts for Ashdyn & our family. So many wonderful people offering their help if we needed it- family & friends bringing us food while we were there and stopping by to see us. An amazing amount of people checking in on Ashdyn and us every day, and even taking time out of their day to make a status requesting thoughts and prayers for him or sharing updates about him- or going to bwws to eat & trying to help raise money & even people at nicks work who gave little gifts to help out with some extra expenses and allowing us to stay at the hospital with him and focus on spending our time and energy with him everyday. I can NOT begin to express how THANKFUL I am for the amount of love and care we were shown during this difficult and trying time for our family (THANK YOU ALL!!) It was so uplifting to get on here and see all the comments & thoughtfulness from everyone!!!
