This is what happened when the Milwaukee Tools boys got a hold of our Carlton Draught Foosball table down at the L&H Electrical Trade show at the Darwin Turf Club this afternoon. This will be against the rules at the Tradies Caulfield Cup Race Day on Saturday. Its a gold coin donation to play - with the champion of the day taking home the table. The Darwin Turf Club is hoping to help build momentum for one of the Leukaemia Foundation’s key fundraising campaigns by teaming up with some of the Northern Territory’s most industrious citizens for this Saturday’s ‘Tradies’ Caulfield Cup Race Day. “Tradies Race Day is the perfect way to knock-off after a hard week’s work while also helping to bolster support for such an important cause,” said Darwin Turf Club Marketing & Sponsorship Manager Carly Archer. “High Vis attire and work boots are welcome, even encouraged, so Tradies can literally drop the tools and head to the track,” she said. “Even the fundraising activities are suited to the handyman - there will be a foosball competition (minimum gold coin entry) with the tournament champion taking home the table kindly provided by Carlton Draught and perfect for any ‘man cave’; Barbequing Beauties will help cook up even more donations and of course meat tray raffles are sure to be a highlight.” “Add to that our major prize giveaway – an Ultimate Outback Experience thanks to Outback Float Plane Adventures, live music by the Slippery Gypsy duo, happy hour until 3pm, drink specials all day, plenty of shade, live local racing and the Caulfield Cup on the big screen.” The Leukaemia Foundation’s U.G.L.Y (Understanding Generous Likeable You) Bartender campaign helps raise vital funds to assist Territory sufferers and their families – last year raising almost $1.4 million. A large number of Northern Territory Leukaemia patients are forced to travel to Adelaide for treatment and the U.G.L.Y Bartender campaign plays a large part in helping to fund free accommodation for those forced to leave their homes, jobs and families behind.
