This is why we walk: Lily Marie Strassberger was born prematurely at 25 weeks on April 22, 2008, weighing 1 pound 10 ounces. Lily was a twin and after a brave fight, her brother Tyler passed away at eleven weeks old. Lily was in the NICU for 120 days before parents were able to bring her home. Lily had PDA ligation (heart vessel surgery) when she was 1 month old, ROP laser eye surgery when she was 3 months old and then another surgical procedure to help correct her eyes from crossing. Although she faces a lot of medical challenges and had lots of doctor appointments, Lily is the happiest little girl. She loves to play with her toys, read books, play in her ball pit, watch Dora, play with her dog Chip and laugh with her family and friends.
