This is why you need a dashcam... I went past exit 62 on - TopicsExpress

This is why you need a dashcam... I went past exit 62 on northbound I-75 in Kentucky today. There was a car (this one in the video) coming on. I had another car passing me, so I couldnt get over. I maintained a steady speed, which is the best thing I can do for that merging vehicle, considering that I was going faster than him, and he was already beside me (rather than in front of me). Rather than just letting off the gas and dropping in behind me from the ramp, he chose to keep accelerating, causing him to run out of ramp and still be beside my trailer driving on the shoulder. He obviously thought I should get out of his way, either not able to see the vehicle to my left, or considering that to be irrelevant in his its all about me world. What happened in the following minute is on the video Im posting. At 11:37:03, you hear a little noise. Thats when he threw something at the drivers side of my truck. I dont know what the quality of the video will be after uploading, but you can clearly see that his passenger window is down when I watch it here before uploading. I watched it roll up, but I dont think you can make that out on the video. I didnt know until I stopped at the next exit (76) whether hed shot at me. I really didnt think so, but I was excited to have possible proof if there was visible damage. Had that been the case, Id be asking you all to share this, and looking for it to go viral. The KY State Police would have this info as well, including his North Carolina plate number (LBW-8625, it appears to me, 2004 or so Jeep Grand Cherokee) from the screen capture shot from the video (see the picture in the comment section). Also, I was kicking myself for not also saving the minute prior to this one, which wouldve showed him on the ramp until I passed by him as he was going slower. I shouldve just whacked the phone, then it wouldve thought Id been in an accident and automatically saved the previous 5 minutes. All you see here, youll probably think its all in my head. But trust me, I know some of these people better than they know themselves after being out here 23 years. Continuing to accelerate and drive on the shoulder after the ramp ended, going past me (in the rain) with his passenger window down, something hitting me at that same time, then rolling his window up. I know exactly what happened, I just dont know what he threw. Oh, by the way... Rainy gray day, gray car, no headlights, and he expects the world to get out of his way. But even with him not trying to be seen, I did see him all along, and I wasnt trying to make anything difficult for him. I had a truck that had just passed me, and a car beside me, and I had him passed, but he accelerated harder just to create the situation. And I believe I was going 10 mph over the speed limit at the time, and that wasnt fast enough for him to merge with. It was a 55 mph construction zone. I wasnt keeping up with traffic, even at 10 mph over.
