This is wonderful news. I am very thankful for two of my staff members, my military legislative assistant Printus and press assistant Anna Maria, for helping to raise awareness for Sgt. Tahmooressi legislatively and through new media on my behalf. Printus made my bill H.Res. 612, which sought to demand for Sgt. Tahmooressis release by putting sanctions on Mexico, possible. Anna Maria helped make #BringBackOurMarine a popular hashtag on Twitter whenever the marine was discussed by working with a grassroots group called #PJNET. Im glad my staff members were committed to helping me, legislatively and through new media, make the case for why Sgt. Tahmooressi should be released from Mexico. Today, we should rejoice that Sgt. Tahmooresi, one of our brave marines who sacrificed his life to defend our freedoms, will be brought home soon.
