This issue - the belief that Democrats and Republicans are alike - irritates me to no end. Yes, there is a big government habit in a lot of legislators, and many on both sides are well-invested in big spending and so on. That said, though, towards which are freedom-loving people gravitating? Where do we have the best chance of not only talking about smaller government, but holding people accountable for actually working on getting there? Seriously, most people on the right didnt understand Alinsky or left tactics until the last few years. Theyve been befuddled at every turn, as conservative values and principles have been trashed in the media and the culture. The whole reason the progressives did that was to rewrite what America was, and is. That progressive team chose a side and worked for DECADES to get what they got done. Its not just about who will shrink government or how quickly. Its about the very ideology that makes America what it has been. And its my belief that with lots of help and some time, and assistance from people like Andrew Lloyd Peth and Cori Dayton Peth of The Party Of Choice, we can preserve it.
