This last Sunday, our boating & fishing adventure in search of donations for St. Marys Soup Kitchen certainly proved to be a Stella Day To Seize The Deep as we all had a great experience! A team of six set out in the early morning light in turbid conditions to help those less fortunate than ourselves this Thanksgiving. Pole in hand, mask, fins, snorkel and spear guns at the ready should conditions allow. Reeling in a nice Black Grouper kicked off the expedition, followed by a jumping Mahi Mahi on the line. The ocean wasnt giving up a whole lot of bounty this day and conditions turned out to be very unforgiving. I guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching! Sales associate Rob and I delivered the catch to the cook at the shelter. Rob even had some smoked fish in hand that he prepared from a previous trip. Sales associate Devon played a large part in the success of the mission and many thanks to Divers Direct customers Jake, Austin and Wyatt for donating their generous contribution of time, boat and gas.
