This last summer I was collecting the (found) materials to design - TopicsExpress

This last summer I was collecting the (found) materials to design and build a small (approx. 8 long x 6 high x 3 wide) one-man, wheeled (metal castors), insulated shelter with interior lighting and heat for a homeless person (as yet to be determined) for this winter. The idea was to create a safe, mobile and warm home for someone without, but it looks as though I have little hope of beginning construction, much less completing it before winter comes. Admittedly, this was not an entirely original idea as I had read something about someone somewhere doing something like this and I was inspired by the idea. Certain local businesses (e.g. Lowes) have even shown interest in contributing materials toward this project and future permutations thereof. I will continue formulating designs this winter and seek to begin construction come springtime. Perhaps I can get a few built prior to winter 2015. I feel very strongly that I have a responsibility to those that have less than I. Humans are a social animal and although we still have a very dangerously perverted system of distributing our common resources, namely capitalism which self-servedly mis-educates us into collectively believing and behaving as competitors, the true purpose of our tribe, our social system is to take care of one and all; to ensure the safety and the in toto health of society. This cannot possibly be accomplished when there is such a profoundly maladaptive distribution of resources, of wealth. Anyway, I just thought that I would share this. If anyone would like to contribute ideas concerning material acquisition, construction techniques, design elements or just want to say Atta Boy! I welcome all input. Thank you for your time.
