This makes a hell of a lot of sense. I wont totally slate facebook for this but there are some underhand tactics going on. You promote a page and facebooks algorhythm will direct your promoted post to a larger percentage but will in turn, even if using targeting, will direct your promotion towards those who are more likely to mindlessly like a page. In turn, with this larger following, the chance of engagement reduces due to facebooks standard cap on the percentage of people who see a post will in turn show on a higher percentage of none engaging followers so does not spread organically from its original post as the more people comment on a pages post, the more people see the pages post........make sense?
