This man changed my life and flipped it 180 degrees. I occasionally share this speech, but I dont usually say how important Jimmy V. is to me. Sports fans will know who Jim Valvano was to sports. To thousands of others who need inspiration at some time in their life and seem to have lost the TRUE meaning on the path they are walking he is so much more than inspirational. You dont have to watch the video, but if you dont you are only cheating yourself out of a very life changing 11 minutes and 14 seconds. There is so much more to life than getting aggravated at the supermarket, getting road rage in traffic, or the many many petty things that we allow to annoy us and worry us everyday. Maybe by watching this it will teach you to appreciate your life a little more and realize that thousands of other human beings are fighting to keep theirs. This epiphany caused me to look at life in a whole new way. There is so much joy in the very simple things of life. I had so much drama, abuse and ugliness in the last 10 years of my life that I cant even explain. I can tell you this - Jim Valvano gave me motivation to set my sights so much higher than all the things that had gone wrong and helped me focus on so many things that are beautiful and going so right.
