This map of the migration patterns of anatomically modern humans is fascinating to digest. A number of interesting points pop out at first glance, but the most interesting is the Cactus Hill archaeological site in southeastern Virginia. This site, which contains 20,000-year-old artifacts that predate the Clovis artifacts in the west, indicates that humans might have first traveled to the Americas from Europe long before the Asian influx from the west via the Bering Straight. academyll.org/wordpress/assets/Human-Migration-chart.pdf
