This morning, I shared that cultural competency training is needed in the US. I said, By 2042, the US will be majority people of color. Let’s be prepared to offer culturally competent care. This statement triggered emotions from some of the participants. They shared how traumatizing it was for them to receive care from health care providers who were not culturally competent. But it does not have to be that way. Anyone who has the desire can learn the steps, to become culturally competent.
